It’s not only beautiful, it’s thought-provoking as well. Maybe it’s because I’ve learned (through reading interpretations of Persian classical poets) to associate ‘rose’ with ‘mind concentration’. In Arabic and Persian, where vowels are not used in writing, the Arabic root WRD can either be pronounced as Ward (rose) or Wird (mind concentrations), so ‘rose’ has been chosen by mystical writer to signify the latter. Hence, through mind concentration back to the realm of our original dream. Another, quite non-poetic, idea can also be discerned here, namely that of indoctrination. One of the basic techniques of indoctrination combines the raising of emotional pitch and the slogans and/or word images. In fact this must be a very basic mental process. Highly emotional events become deeply anchored I our minds. Which can be both good and bad. It is believed that when a poem can be interpreted in two diametrically opposed ways (concentration/indoctrination), the piece is a very profound one, reflecting objective truth.!?:)Boruthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13990298332042076231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21779111.post-1169451822774976112007-01-22T02:43:00.000-05:002007-01-22T02:43:00.000-05:00where all the flowers gone... long time passing......where all the flowers gone... long time passing...Nice one Pat...Amalenduhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06976601329522647463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21779111.post-1169406623228491932007-01-21T14:10:00.000-05:002007-01-21T14:10:00.000-05:00Must have been quite the pizza the night before! :...Must have been quite the pizza the night before! :-)

Seriously, a lovely touching piece.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21779111.post-1169405749192227022007-01-21T13:55:00.000-05:002007-01-21T13:55:00.000-05:00Poetic and romantic.Poetic and romantic.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21779111.post-1169398763194321592007-01-21T11:59:00.000-05:002007-01-21T11:59:00.000-05:00SOoooo lovely, Pat!SOoooo lovely, Pat!Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11723725320469656293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21779111.post-1169389613521049322007-01-21T09:26:00.000-05:002007-01-21T09:26:00.000-05:00You involve several senses with this poem, Pat.
