A leak sprung in my mind:
a screwy thought, maybe, but
more probably my worn out way of thinking.
I should take it somewhere,
get it patched, plugged or replaced.
Think of it, a new mind with zigzag treads
that’d wouldn’t hydroplane on stormy days.
Out of my budget, so I’ll pop another patch;
skid around on bald resolve, fixing flats.

I think that patch would look great too. Like a fashion statement.
Good to see you posting again.
leaks are half the fun
though you could get it vulcanised - live long and prosper :)
good to see you back
cheers
'a new mind with zigzag treads' - love that phrasing Pat.
So glad you are back!
WooHoo his back! :)
with a good one toboot!
Nothing flat, no siree! You're back and that is exactly what I wanted to see!
Happy zig zag racey day!
ha, irritating things, those leaks...
good one, pat!
*chuckle* ...when you get to re-treading, well that might hurt. :-)
wonderful!
It's about time, Pat! Don't wait another month - you can't be that busy. :)
Alright Pat! Whatever gets you around the block...
This was wonderful! Having those leaks and patches add character and who does not love something that has character?
Oh, I love this one. Terrific auto/water analogies. "Wouldn't hydroplane on stormy days"
"bald resolve" (but you have luscious hair on your topmost "tire" I see on your pic!)
I took a plunge and revealed some info about me on my recent post. Come see before I lose my nerve and delete it!

I think your mind is just fine!
Wouldn't change a thing...
actually it's like sharks teeth--
there's more new tread when the old wears off...
great to see you back Pat!
pat, love the zig zag tread analogy.. its like old thoughts (like tires) go off on tangents and some times zig in another dirction but forget to zag back to the original thought. thanks for the compliment on my blog. NINA
:o) hugs
Let me know if you find a low budget place for my occasional mind leaks. It's something I could take advantage of from time to time. Especially on those stormy days.
Judging from these comments, it looks like you were gone for a while. I'm sure not as long as I've been. Hope all is going well for you.
I'm there! Enjoyed your writing as always - you have a unique and fresh perspective. Thank you!
I think that's called 'living on the edge' but don't let it be 'skid row', Pat. Fix the darn tire:-)
popping a patch has a lot of meanings these days. Everything from ritilan to estrogen can be absorbed through the skin and impacts the mind.
good one Pat.

It was great to see your visit, but now I'm disappointed -- I was thinking that you put on a new poem. :)
