Ashes Of Ghosts

Words can be empty
even when full.

You can tie them together
like garlic in panty hose,

hang them from
the toe of a lost poet’s dream;

they’re still just words,
empty when full,

ashes of ghosts howling
in the period after goodbye.

Pat, I wrote something similar today. Even title seems similar!

Do check it out when you have time. Believe me it feels good to see you posting again.

Pat,

First I am glad to see you back. I have missed your wonderful writing.

Now this poem is wonderful in its own right and down right truthful if you were to ask me. I wonder though, who are you speaking to.

yes, they may seem empty when they appear full or full when they appear empty, but words are powerful, regardless the outcome, as portrayed in this beautiful poem.

I have a file full of old love letters, so I know exactly what you mean. Lots of words there, but guess they didn't really mean that much....sigh. Yet, I keep them....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Pat: Sorry i have been so scarce. I am writing the prospectus for my thesis, which is demanding and giving more attention to the art of "seeing" through photography.

Come see for yourself: http://www.flickr.com/photos/don-iannone/sets

Where have you gone?

You are missed!

Pat,

You are missed so much. I wonder if you know that? You must be busy because I would hate to think you might be ill. I hope if you are out and about that you are smiling, but also know that somewhere in the back of your mind we are there anxiously waiting for you to write us more words we can spend time with.

soft love,
T
