The wind kicked the water
with wrinkled feet, and
crusty white toenails.
A foul mood
(being kind in my assessment).
Maybe, a cold Moon
rankled its shanks
as it cuddled up for
a dark-side one night fling.
Whatever from
the gouging heels of fury
lifted water hide off bottom bones.

Wonderful alliteration in the first stanza!
And the third stanza hits one on the face. Like the imaginary with the concrete.
And it feels good to read you again.
Well now! Loved this one Pat. So glad to see you here again.
Soft love,

good to see ya back pat!
A nice mood piece. Don't stay away so long.
Perhaps I would have enjoyed it more if I read it one of those days in between...
My mood went fowl so often..and I couldn't control myself...
Today, i can only appreciate the poet's mood in it..Normally I place myself in poet's shoes when I read poetry..
Hope to read more of you this year, Pat. I loved reading those of the last year :)

Love the first and last stanzas--especially "lifted water hide off bottom bones"--
a great ending!
(and they do seem to have a volatile relationship, wind and moon fighting for influence over the water!)
Is that your adorable doggie in the photo?
Glad to see you posting again! I had to read this a few times--I like it but at first I had a hard time getting the type of work you did on the water this summer out of my mind :)
deep but shallow
I so enjoy your unique phrases and descriptions. You're a one-of-a-kind poet Pat. Good to see you again.
The imagery is very nice. Thank you.
glad to see you back!
this is vintage Pat, enjoyed it. :)
as always, i love your rich imagery and the way you spin images together into something unique
OH good to hear from you again Pat.. am a little slow with this blog lately but comin back. Love the imagery of your poems.. are you ever coming out with a BOOK? I want to do a coffee table book of my best art, something to leave behind for lived ones. I just posted my latest drawing and am pretty productive lately. Alaska will happen. All in good time.

Love how your personfied the moon in this cold season "as it cuddled up for a dark-side (you know I love puns!) one night fling."
Those crusty white toenails are a strong opener, too!
Good to see you back, Pat!
And so nice to have a visit from you today!
Loved this one!
