How Far Will You Ride?

When the wind blows, and
you pull out your token to get on board,
a mocking bird will ask,
“how far will you ride?
How far will you ride?”
An answer isn’t required,
it’s only a reminder there is a destination,
the journey’s just time spent in between.

pat, I know you're familiar with the thought that the journey is the destination. Maybe the mocking bird knows that, too.

The destination however keeps changing, it's only the journey that's constant...

I like your ideas, I need to tour your blog one of these days...

"How far will you ride?" It's so evocative of the thrill of beginning and not knowing how your journey will end...

which is better than certainty...

it's all about the journey, the destination is irrelevant.
wonderful stuff!

am hoping to start something and the question that the mocking bird asked is a question i ask myself and am afraid so will those around me and its scary. i tell myself that its going on a journey which counts, i don't know if i'm wrong or right but i will never find out until i begin my travel.

great poem! ...as usual...:))

I'll go anywhere with you !
The journey is the destination and the pleasure is the knowing you are there!
