I was tagged by Russell Ragsdale. Because he looks so cute in his Darth Vader PJ's, here are 5 things some may not know about me:

1.) I graduated from a non-denominational seminary in the '70's. I have never preached a sermon (my kids might disagree with that), God is too kind to impose that on the world.

2.) I play rock golf. A game I invented to keep me somewhat amused while I walk. The rules are very simple. I see how many times I can kick a rock without it going off the 7 to 8 foot wide asphalt trail I walk on. As the trail twists, turns and undulates, it's not as easy as it sounds. My best is 9 times.

3.) I traded in a dilapadated vertebrae in my neck almost 4 years ago for a sturdy, reliable pre-owned one. Not sure the mileage on it, but so far it's running fine. I also got a shiny titanium plate/plaque to go with it. All for a paltry $108,000.00. Quite a deal!!

4.) Because of the above I quit playing real golf, started writing poetry and playing rock golf.

5.) I've cheated 4 times (not at all what that immediately brings to mind) and played the real game. If you haven't gathered I love GOLF!!

Was that for a dark side chocolate pie? Seriously, I forgot, I'll start back work on it this weekend. More later!

Darthie

P.S. Nice list.

I am fairly new to your blog...I walk daily and I to kick rocks but never put a name to it. Can I steal your name "rock golf" for a great distraction while walking my route.
Walking is therapeutic for my mind and rock kicking is just a 'silly' thing I do to pass the time while keeping up my pace.
thanks for sharing

You must miss the game!
Rock golf...I will have to try that on my next walk.

Take care!

it's interesting to learn a bit about you.

Yes, I'm sure, if a poll was taken, all kids under the age of 21 would think that all parents do is preach...

Very interesting.

i didn't know you invented the game i'm sometimes playing, though mine is more like mini rock golf :)

Cool! You're part robot! :-)

Thanks, Pat! It's great to have a name now for my favourite sport!!
Poems are better than sermons - more memorable and meaningful.

Enjoyed!

I played a variation of your rock golf when I was little. On the way to school and back I'd kick a tin can. It got pretty mangled by the time I reached my destination.

I would LOVE to hear a sermon in that purring voice of yours! I'm sure you must have a talent for writing sermons that wake people up!

Your version of rock golf seems more appealing then trying to knock that darn little golf ball into a hole at some many yards away. You have that preacher looking face.
lol
:o)

Oh, I play rock golf, too!

Thanks Darthie!! I guess tha recipe's somewhere over the rainbow.

Nancy, looks like I just gave it a name and applied a rule or two to it. My pleasure!!

Margie, I do miss it. But, there alot more important things I could be missing. No complaining just being creative. Thank you!!

Sage, you're right. Our mother did more of the "preaching", our Dad put the rod of correction behind it.

Thanks Jon Cox!! Where'd your art go??

Thanks Joyce!!

Thanks Polona!! Guess invent was definitely the wrong word. But, it does provide some entertainment while walking.

Christine, hadn't thought of it that way, but I guess so.

Gracie, I agree!! Well, maybe not all, but a good portion of them.

Kai, neither was I. Even worse at rock golf.

Well Gabby, play however you choose, but I would definitely reply in kind.

Thanks Vaughn!! We used to play "kick the can". A fun game as I recall.

Mandy, they would.

Well Andrew be sure and get a couple of birdies, in my honor of course!!

Floots, from the land that invented golf that doesn't sound right somehow.

Vivian, you are too kind. Never written one either.

Trinitystar, say it ain't so!! I guess the 10 shot glasses stuck in my belt--in the part of the picture you can't see, might not match that look. Some would say.

Cathy, I'm learning everybody does. What was I thinking???

Loved reading this, Pat;-) I'm esp glad your neck operation worked out well. Have a friend who had one and now they say he needs another. Ditto with a second female friend. Gadfries. That means gads are littering my french fries.

Rock golf, sounds a bit like kick the can......haha.......except maybe a bit more sophisticated. I could never understand a sport where you had to whisper.......I am more the baseball, football, basketball type........hmmmmmmmmmm, lately I am more the rock golf type......

Isn't it amazing just how much used body parts are worth........
