I eat soup for lunch,
not always,
but most days.
I love the stuff:
classic chicken noodle,
savory pot roast,
fajita steak with rice and beans,
thick and creamy clam chowder,
so forth,
and so on,
Monday through Friday.
I don’t have a favorite, but
I do miss the tomato
with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,
when there was two to share.

No pb&j today, but tomato soup for lunch as always.:) Good write, Pat.
Have you ever tried a Peanut Butter Club sandwich? It's like a CHicken club, but with peanut butter instead of chicken, and no bacon. It's good-- I swear.
the last line is made more poignant by the light tone of the rest. well done. (and i do eat soup for lunch, chunky classic chicken in the microwave container for convenience at work.)
Gotta make lunch soon over here too but I won't make this:
Have you ever heard of Creamy Peanut Butter Soup?
1 can tomato soup
1/4 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth!)
1 1/2 cans milk
In saucepan, gradulally stir soup into peanut butter until well blended; add milk. Heat; stir occasionally.
Makes 3 cups.
Serve with grilled cheese sandwiches.
I had this footnote in my cookbook. "Hubby did not like. All 3 kids did tho. ages 7 1/2, 3 1/2, 2 1/2."
it's strange how mundane moments can be imbued with so much emotion
(you've done so here)
i agree with eric (lucky aurora already posted her comment) :)
moving last line!
I agree with floots.
the last line!!!!! great
It is one of those conversations where you discover what you've been talking about all along is not what you've been talking about. Loved it Pat!
Again, you make us think w/ that last line.
