Horizon's Cradle

Sunset covers up
with the outgoing tide.
The moon sings lullabies, and
runs her wave tipped fingers
through the last wisp,
of orange rippled hair.

Sunrise yawns early
as she peeks out from under
the horizon’s blanketed care,
beginning again the daily chore
of polishing the sky, and
removing cloudy stains.

The personification in this poem is perfect. I love the idea of the sun as a woman sleeping and awakening.

Ditto to Christine's personification comment. I always liked this poem.:)
