Cheeseburger All The Way

People that don’t show age
should be ashamed, I think.
It’s not fair to those that do:
belly buttons with their faces
bowed in prayer; skin that
looks like a topography map.
What is it that keeps them young?
Attitude? Refusing to eat fast food?
Exercise? God forbid!!

Genes...it's got to be in the genes Pat...at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Good one!
Oh...and I got rid of the mirror too :)

No Cheeseburgers in paradise for you, gotta keep you young. Good poem.

I'm not sure about the topographical skin! Cheeseburgers might be the better alternative...

My sentiments exactly. Fun read all the way. Like Janice suggests, I'm going after my mirrors, too. An on-line auctioneer should be able to get them away from me.

I like the way your poem "keeps its feet on the ground" as far as language goes.

Janice, there's definitely some truth in that. I was told it was in being "immature". If that's the case I'll never die. Thanks!!

Thanks Gautami!! I'm sorry I'm slow, BMI?

Polona, yes to both. Thanks!!

Don, there's not much of life I've left on the buffet table. Thanks!!

Sage, I'm going for the immaturity angle to stay young. Thanks for the thought!!

Vaughn, you're a better man than me.

Carol, that's why I wear a beard, you can't see the ridges and crevices for the forest. Cheeseburgers work!!

Rethablie at my size and age my feet don't leave the ground too often. Thanks!!

Thanks Janice!!

Love this one. I happened to be blessed with my mothers 'turkey neck'
It started to show at the age of thirty! how embarrassing, i live in new england so i can wear turtle necks for months but a turtle neck bathing suit has not been invented.
you make me laugh

All I know is, when I was in high school Mr Kramer looked 38 years old. I was 16. I saw him a few years back......and he still looks 38 years old, and I, well.....am no longer 16, nor do I look 16. I really think it is highly unfair.....could he be an alien?
