Lost And Found

Where’d that poem go?
I know I had it here.
Shook the keyboard,
nothing fell out.
I looked under the mouse,
won’t mention what was there.
Ran my fingers through my beard,
just a few cracker crumbs from lunch.
I bet it’s hiding in the dictionary.
Wonder what I can do
to make it come out?

Don't ya just love it! I hate it when I compose a verse in my head while I am on my bike or in the surf . . . only to find when I get home that it has evaporated completely. Aaaarrgghhh! Good one.

Great way to start the day...
It helps to know that someone else is searching for their poem and I am not all alone :)

I don't know, but if you find it, see if you can find mine! I can't find mine, either, today. :)

If you turn your back, maybe it'll sneak out behind you then...
(or pretend to sleep, that'll wake it up for sure!)
Cool audio! Love your voice.

Pat...

this is all too familiar. Just this morning I had the same experience, and I said to myself... "let go, let God," and sure enough a poem appeared...

Pat,
Thanks for stopping over and leaving a comment.

Poems thought out away from pencil and paper are like ether, and evaporate just as quickly.

Rebecca, glad to have you back around. Also glad to provide a little tickle!!

Camera Shy, now that's a thought...

Sue, I need one of those little tape recorders. But, I'd forget to turn it on, or erase what I had on it. Getting older sucks, somedays...

Inconsequential, or a blank season?

Grish, yeah, but it is frustrating!!

Dsnake, you found it!!! I knew somebody would.

Borut, I turned my back, pretended to sleep, pushed like I was in labor, wrung its neck, beat it with a hammer, then posted and Dsnake found it!!

Trinitystar, I'm still studying those crumbs. If I don't eat them for a snack, I might arrange then into a poem.

It has happened to me. Words form and when I sit down to write, my mind goes blank. I keep staring at the screen blankly..

Did the mouse nibble it?

More points to you..

Pat,
Very well done!
Made me laugh really hard!!!!!!!!!
And I liked the tone that went with it! Twas very cool...
Did you look in the freezer?
Reminds me of my how bad my short term memory is, and how stories are deposited in my memory like whisps of smoke...some leave...some stay.

Ah, Pat, that is somewhere we all have been.
