The Great Compromise

My cat sits on the table
beside me at night,
waiting for ice cream
she knows is on the way.
The older she gets
the earlier her vigil starts.
I prefer chocolate,
her favorite is vanilla,
we compromise, and
get chocolate,
she only licks
the bowl half clean.

I really need to not let my cat see this...she knows all about compromising! A very good morning chuckle, thank you, Pat!

Chocolate covered cats, senescence, and a fickle tongue for flavor. Sounds like a great partnership.

Thanks for the smile!

we compromise, and
get chocolate,
I loved that! We used to have cats and I loved them -- no pets now, though -- too many kids!!!! Those cats were a whole lot cheaper, though.

Steve, it's really true. Thanks!!

AA, you would too, wouldn't you??

Yes Vaughn, and I'm the cat!!

Floots, mine's black and white, with way to much attitude!!

Polona, do you now??? Want a black and white???

Carl, I guess we get along pretty well together. We cuss each other out and we both love ice cream. A match made somewhere. Thanks for coming by!!

Christine, they are strange little creatures, but most entertaining. Now if I could teach mine to write songs!!!

Amy, thanks for coming by!!

Eating Poetry, I wish they were!! Thank you for coming and commenting!!

Pris, thank you. thought it was time for a change.

Ardi K, puuuurty good comment, thanks!!

Bittersweet, sense isn't something usually associated with this cat. But , then again, me either. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Kai, thanks for your continued support. always glad to see you come by!!

Ruthanne, thanks!! I imagine you get whatever flavor you want!!

Andrew, you don't know the half of it yet!! Thanks!!

Borut, good point!!! Was that a suggestion...

Ah, another cat person!
I think there should be a poll, to see if all poets are.
